Liverpool could be prepared to let star forward Mohamed Salah leave the club this summer as negotiations drag on over a new contract for the player.
The Egyptian has just one year left on his current deal at Anfield with the Reds thought to be unwilling to meet his demands for a big pay rise. Former star Sadio Mane was facing a similar predicament, but Liverpool decided an agreement with the Senegal international was beyond reach and decided to sell him to Bayern Munich in a £35.1million move.
And reports have suggested the Reds may view Salah's future in a similar vein, and could sell their star forward this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing in a year's time. It comes as FC Porto expect Liverpool to firm up their interest in winger Otavio after they rejected an offer from Premier League rivals Leeds United.
Meanwhile the Reds are also set for a welcome seven-figure windfall to boost their transfer budget after Nottingham Forest signed Taiwo Awoniyi.

Salah 'could leave'
Mohamed Salah could reportedly leave Liverpool this summer with the Anfield club yet to strike an agreement with the Egyptian over a new contract.
The Egyptian has committed himself to the Reds for next season, although Liverpool may be forced to cash in on the forward with Real Madrid said to be monitoring his situation. An agreement over a new contract to keep Salah at Anfield beyond next summer still seems a way off and reports have now suggested the Reds could cash in on the winger, who wants to see his £220,000 wages rise to a reported £400,000-a-week.
And it is claimed Liverpool may decide to sell up if an offer of around £60million comes in.
Porto expect Otavio bid
Liverpool are expected to enter the race to sign Porto winger Otavio this week after Leeds United had a bid of £26million rejected for the Portugal international.
The player reportedly has a £51million release clause written into his contract with the Primeira Liga champions, although they may be willing to do business for around £38million. Leeds United have reportedly lined the right-winger up as a replacement for Raphinha, who has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Tottenham.
But Porto reportedly expect to receive an offer from the Reds, with the player's agent in England trying to secure a move for his client.
Reds get financial boost
Taiwo Awoniyi has finalised his move to Nottingham Forest – meaning Liverpool will receive an additional £1.75 million for their transfer kitty.
Liverpool bought the Nigeria international for £400,000 from the Imperial Soccer Academy in 2015. But he did not play for the Reds after failing to get a work permit, and was finally moved to Union Berlin last year. Berlin paid Liverpool £6.5 million last summer, and the Reds agreed to negotiate a 10% sell-on clause in any future purchases.
That means the Reds are set to profit from Awoniyi's £17.5million move to Forest by pocketing a tidy £1.75million.
