Liverpool have not enjoyed the start to the season many expected them to as Jurgen Klopp's side currently languish as low as eighth in the Premier League table after six games played.
The Reds do boast a game in hand on many of the teams above them as a result of their clash away at Chelsea, scheduled for last weekend, being postponed. Still, the fact Liverpool sit eight points adrift of long-time title rivals Manchester City and nine points behind league-leaders Arsenal will undoubtedly annoy Klopp.
Nearly a month would have passed between Liverpool's last Premier League fixture on September 3 and their next - a home clash against Brighton on October 1. Given how vocal Klopp often is in his opposition of the hectic fixture list, perhaps the Reds boss welcomed the unexpected break.

Inside Klopp's loanee group chat
Liverpool boss Klopp is famed for his stellar man-management and it is not difficult to see why as news of a group chat consisting of all of the Reds players out on loan emerges.
Keen to ensure no one feels like they are ever too distant from goings on in the red half of Merseyside, Liverpool youngster Conor Bradley has revealed the manager often keeps in touch via Whatsapp.
"I didn’t really speak to him myself before I went out on loan, but I had texts from him, just saying go out and enjoy it, do your best and get as many games as possible," the Northern Ireland international explained.
"We’ve got a group for all the loanees and he texts into it when I get an assist or I score or have played well. He and the coaches are always texting in, wishing us all the best for the games and saying well done if I score.
"That’s been massive that they’re still keeping in contact and want to know how I’m doing and settling in. It’s reassuring to know they are still thinking of you and Liverpool have been great that way."

Klopp handed Werner warning
The German has been told that marquee summer signing Darwin Nunez could suffer a similar fate to ex-Chelsea star Timo Werner by a former Liverpool player in Glen Johnson.
Following the exit of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, the Anfield hierarchy were willing to part ways with a club-record £85million package to lure Nunez to Merseyside.
After a bright start, the Uruguayan international has suffered a steep decline and looks way off the pace, coming nowhere near to justifying the huge price Liverpool paid for the 23-year-old this summer.
"I'm confident Nunez will come good. You want a player with a fire in their belly. He's a bit like Richarlison in that respect. Whether he hits the heights of Diaz we're yet to see but I think he's got the potential," Johnson told Genting Casino.
"There's always a risk that he could become someone like Timo Werner. Just because a player flourishes away from the Premier League, doesn’t mean they’ll do it straight away."

Arthur's shock sub
Arthur Melo is yet to make a first-team appearance for Liverpool after signing on a season-long loan deal from Juventus on deadline day.
As part of his road to full fitness, the Brazilian international was named in the starting line-up for the Reds' under-21's as they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Rochdale in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Arthur lasted 60 minutes before he was hauled off in place of a familar face among the Liverpool faithful in 33-year-old Jay Spearing. The veteran midfielder made 55 first team appearances, the last of which came just over a decade ago in August 2012.
Nowadays, Spearing enjoys a coaching and player role. While the main focus of his responsibilities are centred around the expertise he can offer Liverpool's young stars, he can still feature on the pitch as an overage player.
