Liverpool take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, hoping to continue their excellent record against the Gunners at Anfield.
The Reds have won their last six home league games against Arsenal and have not lost in the fixture since 2012. That record bodes well for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who are looking to turn around a miserable run of form.
Liverpool are winless in four games in all competitions, having drawn 0-0 with Chelsea last time out following defeats by Bournemouth, Real Madrid and Manchester City. Klopp’s side need to keep pace with the rest of the chasing pack in pursuit of an unlikely Champions League qualification place.
Here are the latest news stories on match day.
Klopp wants a new keeper
Liverpool are set to be busy in the summer transfer window and they have plenty of names on their wishlist.
The club are going to try and sign a goalkeeper because Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to push for the exit. Kelleher has been Alisson’s understudy for quite some time and has made just three appearances this season.
The 24-year-old is worried about losing his place in the Ireland side to Southampton’s Gavin Bazunu and thinks he needs to be playing regularly.
Bellingham boost
The priority target for the summer is, of course, Jude Bellingham. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is going to be in demand this summer, but Liverpool have been handed a timely boost.
That’s because Real Madrid are not going to try and sign Bellingham. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos are set to extend their stays, meaning they don’t need to spend big on Bellingham, with a whole host of younger midfielders also on the books.
"[Edouardo] Camavinga, [Aurelien] Tchouameni, [Federico] Valverde and [Dani] Ceballos are the future of this club," he said. "Modric, Casemiro and Kroos are irreplaceable, that's why Real Madrid will have to change and play differently."
Arthur handshake
Arthur Melo has made absolutely no impact at Liverpool this season with an injury ruling him out for most of the season.
Yet the Brazilian midfielder has still managed to annoy Liverpool fans with his behaviour, despite not getting on the pitch.
Supporters were outraged when Arthur shook hands with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola who was celebrating Julian Alvarez’s equaliser in the 4-1 victory.
Both Arthur and Kostas Tsimikas were warming up on the side of the pitch when Guardiola approached.
While Tsimikas attempted to ignore the City manager, much to the horror of the travelling Liverpool fans and those watching on TV, Arthur happily shook his hand.
