Liverpool have made one major addition this summer in Alexis Mac Allister are more are expected to follow.
The Argentine headed to Anfield to bolster the midfield, an area that needs several new faces, with Jurgen Klopp seeking to make the Reds a trophy-winning force once more. Liverpool's below par season saw them miss out on the Champions League.
Their focus over the coming months is to prepare the side so that they can challenge the likes of Manchester City. Several big names continue to be linked with moves to Merseyside, whilst others could still leave. Liverpool's reputation as industry leaders in the transfer market has taken a hit in recent years, but they will attempt to now put that right.
Here's the latest from Anfield.
Arthur's Prem lifeline
Arthur Melo could return to the Premier League this summer, with the Brazilian thought to want another move to stay in English football despite a disastrous season with Liverpool.
The Brazilian joined the Reds on loan from Juventus last summer, with a big reputation having previously won la Liga with Barcelona and the Copa America for Brazil. However, injury meant he played just once for Klopp, with just 13 minutes of first-team action as a substitute in September's 4-1 away defeat to Napoli in the Champions League.
According to the Daily Mail, Arthur is believed to have his sights set on two Premier League clubs, with the unnamed pair believed to be offering him a potential lifeline. This comes as he returns to Juventus, with his contract expiring in 2025, after Liverpool failed to trigger a reported €37.5m clause to make the deal permanent.
Reds target talks up switch
Micky van de Ven has stated that he would be keen on a switch to the Premier League this summer with Liverpool among those keen.
Reports in Germany have claimed the Reds are interested in the Wolfsburg centre-back with the man who signed him for the Bundesliga outfit, Jorge Schmadtke, being appointed sporting director at Anfield at the start of the month.
Van de Ven is set to plays for the Netherland at the U21 Euros and has told ESPN: “Of course, I read everything. I have good contact with my agent, so I know what’s going on. I’ll see where it will lead. Hopefully, (a big transfer after the Euros) would be nice. The Premier League? Maybe, yes. Who knows.
“I am very good at Wolfsburg, so I don’t mind staying at Wolfsburg for another year. But if I get a chance to leave, I would like to."
Ramsay heads out on loan
Calvin Ramsay, signed last summer from Aberdeen, has joined Preston on a season-long loan.
The young right-back has struggled for minutes since moving to Liverpool and Klopp was keen for the Scot to head out and get regular football to aid his development, according to the Athletic. Ramsay made just two outings with injury hampering his opportunities.
Preston finished 12th in the Championship last term and are coached by Ryan Lowe. Trent Alexander-Arnold has commanded the right-back role under Klopp but there had been talk of him moving into midfield, a position he began to adopt in the latter stages of last season. Ramsay's exit suggests that move will not be made permanent over the next 12 months.
