Reports from Italy have claimed that Liverpool could be involved in a couple of deals with one of the country’s biggest clubs in the coming months, with Ismael Bennacer being linked with a move to Anfield.
As the January transfer window approaches, the Reds are being linked with a host of potential new signings that could be added to the squad. Jurgen Klopp may want to dip into the market when able to so he can add reinforcements to his squad.
One area of the pitch that has been a subject of debate is the midfield. Throughout the summer, Liverpool were linked with a long list of possible new additions, but only managed to complete a loan deal for Arthur Melo from Juventus, who is currently sidelined with injury.

However, reports from Italy have claimed that Liverpool could make a move for AC Milan midfielder Bennacer. The Reds have been linked previously with the Algeria international, who is thought to be involved in contract talks with the Serie A giants.
According to Corriere Dello Sport , Liverpool may have made an offer to sign Bennacer, but it does not specify whether this is for January or in the summer. The 25-year-old’s contract runs out in 2024, with him set to enter the final 12 months of his deal at the end of the season.
It has also been reported that Bennacer is expected to enter fresh contract talks with Milan in the next few days. And despite apparently changing his representatives in recent weeks, he is still thought to “have the last word” on a new contract.
As well as this, reports from Calciomercato claim that Milan are interested in signing two of Liverpool’s existing midfielders. Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are reported to be targets for the Italian club.
Both players are out of contract at the end of the season, and there are no signs yet of an extension for either of them. It has been reported that Milan are still looking for a replacement for Franck Kessie, who left for Barcelona in the summer, with the Liverpool duo apparently listed as possible targets.
