Liverpool won't be hosting concerts at Anfield next summer. The Reds' home stadium was the venue for three memorable gigs in recent weeks as Elton John, the Rolling Stones and the Eagles all drew a full house and delivered electrifying performances.
But due to the final phase of work that will be required to complete the Anfield Road development next summer in time for the start of the 2023/24 season, Liverpool won't be able to play host to concerts in 2023, the ECHO has learned.
The plan is to have big acts back for 2024, though, with the success of the concerts in recent weeks a boon for both the club and the local economy as thousands upon thousands of music fans flocked to Liverpool to watch some of the world's biggest artists having been starved of the ability to do so due to two pandemic-impacted summers.
