Liverpool are competing with Benfica for the signature of Chicago Fire teenager Jhon Duran, according to reports.
The Reds have previously been linked with a move for the 19-year-old Colombian winger. And now Italian journalist Raffaele Amato has offered an update on the situation.
Amato tweeted that Liverpool are ‘making concrete moves’ for Duran but face competition from other clubs including re-sale specialists Benfica. The Portuguese outfit are said to have bid more for the player than the Reds.

The Eagles are thought to be looking for a replacement for Argentina star Enzo Fernandez - himself a player who has been heavily linked with Liverpool - who could be sold by Benfica at a massive profit in the summer.
Chicago Fire are ‘aiming to collect €20m’ for their young forward, who only joined the club last January from Envigado in Colombia for a fee of €1.7m.
Duran has made an impact since his arrival, however, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in 27 appearances and earning three caps for his national side in the process.
Amato also claims that Aston Villa are looking to capture Duran, who they are said to have spoken to this week.
