Liverpool line-ups as Fabinho and Curtis Jones decisions made vs Wolves

Ian Doyle - Twist in midfield with Jones getting a start

If it isn't Brighton, it's Wolves. And Liverpool face the Midlanders for the third time inside a month today hoping to continue their unbeaten run against the Premier League strugglers.

What, though, is Jurgen Klopp to do?

Having relied on youth in midfield of late, I'd do the same again. But with a twist.

Welcome back, then, Fabinho, who by rights shouldn't be playing so needs to make the most of the opportunity in the defensive shield role. He can be joined in the engine room by Thiago Alcantara and, providing some legs, Curtis Jones.

In defence, Joel Matip returns for the injured Ibrahima Konate, and the remainder stays the same. That means Alisson Becker in goal, Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back and Andy Robertson at left-back.

Up top, Darwin Nunez can come back in to the lead the line with Mohamed Salah on the right. Harvey Elliott did well last week on the left, so he can stay there.

My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Robertson; Fabinho, Thiago, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Elliott.

Paul Gorst - Nunez needs to play down the middle

Liverpool travel to Wolves once again and this time Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to make as many changes as the FA Cup game last month.

But there will be some. Stefan Bajcetic has done enough to merit keeping his shirt and the same can be said for Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara in midfield.

There is an enforced change in defence where Joel Matip partners Joe Gomez in place of the injured Ibrahima Konate. The rest of the back line can stay the same.

And in attack, Darwin Nunez can replace Harvey Elliott but I want to see him down the centre and Cody Gakpo on the left.

My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Matip, Robertson; Bajcetic, Keita, Thiago; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo.

Joe Rimmer - Elliott unlucky to miss out

A new month brings a new chance to impress for Liverpool.. against an all-too familiar side.

Liverpool faced Brighton and Wolves throughout January and February starts the same way with a trip to Molineux.

A 1-0 win in the FA Cup was the only positive from a grim start to January last month and it was done through energy and enthusiasm. Liverpool need that again, so like Ian, I'm introducing Curtis Jones in midfield.

Unlike Ian, though, I'm not convinced Fabinho has done enough to get back in the team so Stefan Bajcetic keeps his place.

There isn't much room for manoeuvre in defence but Darwin Nunez has to start up front. Cody Gakpo put in an encouraging performance against Brighton so he stays in and Harvey Elliott is perhaps unlucky to drop out.

My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Robertson; Bajcetic, Thiago, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo.
