A man has been charged in connection with an alleged rape in Liverpool city centre.
Police officers were called to a report of a sexual assault during the early hours of Sunday, February 6.
Forensic examinations and investigations of CCTV footage were carried out in the area, but the investigation was passed on to British Transport Police (BTP) due to the incident’s proximity to Lime Street station.

Today, a spokesperson for BTP confirmed a 31-year-old man was charged.
William John Ormandy, 31, and of Church Road, Halewood, Merseyside, is charged with rape and assault by penetration.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court today.
The incident happened at around 2am on February 6.
A spokesperson for BTP said: "A 31-year-old man will appear at court charged in connection to a rape at Liverpool Lime Street station that occurred shortly after 2am on February 6.
"William John Ormandy, 31, and of Church Road, Halewood, Merseyside, is charged with rape and assault by penetration.
"He has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court this morning."
