As Liverpool continue to chase an unprecedented quadruple, whether the season ends with a domestic cup double, a treble or even four trophies, it has certainly been a campaign to remain. And it’s one that the Reds academy in particular can be proud of.
From the 37 players Jurgen Klopp has utilised so far this season, 16 have spent time in the club’s youth ranks, with Trent Alexander-Arnold the crown jewel after becoming the youngest player to win all six major honours in English football. And with a number of academy stars making their own lasting impact on Liverpool’ s respective cup runs, they’ll be looking to follow in the full-back’s footsteps in the years ahead.
It is a good time to be a young Red as a result, with the door to the first team firmly open for any talented fledgling. Such a fact has played its part in Liverpool signing the likes of Harvey Elliott, Kaide Gordon and Bobby Clark in recent years, snapping up the services of Fabio Carvalho and Ben Doak ahead of the summer, and also looking to wrap up a deal for Aberdeen’s Calvin Ramsay.
