Liverpool's hopes of completing a 'quadruple' of major trophies was kept alive this week, but Premier League stars of the past cannot agree on what silverware destiny lies in wait for Jurgen Klopp's men.
With the Carabao Cup already sitting in the cabinet, a 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan on Tuesday evening did not prevent The Reds from advancing 2-1 on aggregate to the Champions League quarterfinal stage.
They are also into the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, where they will face Championship side Nottingham Forest, and continuing to keep the pressure on Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.

But when former England and Arsenal defender Nigel Winterburn was asked about Liverpool's chances of pulling off an historic four-trophy haul this season the Gunners legend was not convinced.
Speaking to Paddy Power, Winterburn said: “It’s a big statement to say if Liverpool win the quadruple this season, they would be the most successful team in recent history. It would be a major achievement to win it though.
“One or two other teams will have a say in whether they do go on to win it. It’s such a difficult thing to do, operating at such a high-level game in, game out – particularly in cup competitions. One poor performance and you’re out.
“Do I personally see them achieving the quadruple? No. But we’re seeing an excellent side with a lot of top-quality players. They’ve shown us that when games are tight, they can grind the results out.
“Liverpool will believe that they can achieve it. When I was at Arsenal, even before the season started, we said that we wanted to win everything. As the season progresses, it's tough to focus on everything and keep up fitness and intensity.
“Liverpool’s priority will likely be the Premier League and Champions League. Manchester City will have a big say in both though.”
Whereas supporters have been only too glad to speculate on what The Reds may end the season with, manager Klopp has taken a far more pragmatic approach.
The German insists that his players and team are simply focusing on the next game and seeing where it takes them, but one former Liverpool star thinks they are in with a chance of making history, with the manager taking the right approach.
John Barnes won two league titles, two FA Cups and a League Cup during an illustrious 10-year career at Anfield.
Speaking to Bonuscodebets, Barnes said: “The current Liverpool squad [and their talent] means that they should win the Premier League, but so does Manchester City’s.
“Liverpool won’t be thinking about winning four trophies, they’ll be thinking about winning football matches. They’ve won the Carabao Cup, are in with a chance of winning the league and they are the only team left with a chance at the quadruple.
“Jürgen Klopp won’t be looking that far ahead to [winning] four trophies. They will wonder how they can win in the next round of the FA Cup to reach the semi-finals."
