Liverpool legend Ian Rush says he was 'delighted' to meet Sean Cox at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Liverpool were in action as they impressed against Villarreal in their semi-final clash as they dominated a 2-0 win.
And Liverpool super fan Sean Cox was in attendance and got to meet the club's all time top scorer as well as a host of Liverpool legends - past and present.
Meath man Cox suffered a serious brain injury after he was attacked outside Anfield before Liverpool's Champions League clash against Roma back in 2018 and the Liverpool super fan has returned to the ground multiple times to support his club.
And Cox posed for a photo alongside Rush with the Liverpool icon sharing the snap on his social media.
He said: "Solid win @LFC and delighted to see Sean and Martina Cox at Anfield #YNWA #LIVVCF"
And a number people replied to Rush to send their well wishes to Cox.
One social media user said: "Great to see Sean I was thinking about him and wondering how he was getting on."
While another said: "Nice to see him back at Anfield Sean and Martina Cox"
And another said: "Great picture of you both, nice one guys."
Social media users were quick to hail the gesture. One stated: "Super photos! Sean Cox will forever be in the heart and minds of all the Liverpool family throughout the world! YNWA."
Another said: "Fantastic to see Sean & his family back with the Liverpool family what a great night!"
Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win against Villareal thanks to a Villareal own goal and a goal from Sadio Mane.
