Liverpool 'join' Chelsea in £68m defender race as PSG 'consider' Gini Wijnaldum sale

The transfer window has been closed for more than a month and Liverpool’s squad is now set for the remainder of the season.

Luis Diaz was Jurgen Klopp's only signing during January after the club agreed a £49million deal with Porto to bring the Colombia international to Anfield.

Reds boss Klopp did push to sign Fabio Carvalho from Fulham as well but a move could not be completed before the deadline.

Liverpool are expected to go back in for Carvalho in the summer but he's not the only player being linked with the Quadruple-chasers...

According to the report, Liverpool are one of five clubs who are interested in making a move for Kounde this summer.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be in the mix to sign the France centre-back.

Kounde has been persistently linked with a move to Chelsea in the past but has remained at Sevilla for now and is thought to be valued at around £68million.

According to the report, PSG could look to sell Wijnaldum in the summer just one year after signing him from Liverpool.

The Holland international left Anfield after five years on Merseyside on a free transfer but he has not enjoyed a regular run in the Paris team under Mauricio Pochettino.

And the report states PSG could look to cut ties at the end of the season with Wijnaldum valued at around £21m.

Milan Skriniar, Inter Milan defender.

What?

According to the report, Inter want to agree a new contract for Skriniar amid apparent interest from Liverpool.

The Reds have been tentatively linked with the Slovakia centre-back in recent months, although there is nothing serious to suggest a move could happen.

Despite this, Inter feel they must agree a new contract for Skriniar, whose current deal is set to run out in 2023.
