Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is 'interested' in signing Inter Milan playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu - if reports in Italy are to be believed.
The word from inside Anfield is that the Reds have completed their transfer business after bringing in right-back Calvin Ramsay, attacker Fabio Carvalho and striker Darwin Nunez. But some feel that they could still do with another addition in midfield.
Liverpool were linked with Aurelien Tchouameni earlier in the summer but the Frenchman opted to join Real Madrid. The ECHO understands the Reds are admirers of Jude Bellingham but the England international won't be leaving Borussia Dortmund until the summer of 2023 at the earliest.
But with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sidelined with a serious hamstring injury, Liverpool are a man short in midfield. And according to Calciomercatoweb, that could see Klopp move for Turkey international Calhanoglu, who is said to be a 'favourite' of the Reds manager. The 28-year-old Calhanoglu has been compared to former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil in the past due to his playing style.
The site also claims that Klopp is keen on two more midfielders who play in Serie A - Adrien Rabiot of Juventus and Ismael Bennacer of AC Milan.
