Liverpool in shock u-turn over missed midfield target: report

Liverpool Jude Bellingham Aurelien Tchouameni Jurgen Klopp Carlo Ancelotti Real Madrid Anfield Chelsea Los Blancos UEFA Champions League
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp looks on prior to the Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool FC at Old Trafford on August 22, 2022 in Manchester, England.

Liverpool are set to make a surprise return for a midfield target that they missed out on last summer.

The Reds have recently pulled out of the race for Jude Bellingham according to multiple reports, admitting that they can't afford to compete for him. With Liverpool currently eighth in the table and staring at the prospect of missing out on Champions League football, splashing out over £100 million on one player is a luxury that Jurgen Klopp has decided he can't afford.
