Mohamed Salah reached a special milestone on Sunday, 22nd December, as Liverpool claimed a sensational 6-3 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
The ‘Egyptian King’ was at his sensational best at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as he scored two goals and provided two assists to propel the Reds to a deserving victory. The victory in North London allowed the league leaders to go four points clear of second-placed Chelsea, despite playing a game less than the Blues.
Liverpool Legend Mohamed Salah Is One of a Kind
Salah has been wowing fans since joining the club from AS Roma in the summer of 2017. He has beaten defenders for fun, created chances out of thin air, and scored jaw-dropping goals match after match, taking the Merseysiders to crucial victories. Over the last seven-and-a-half years, Salah has helped Liverpool to a total of eight trophies, including one Premier League title, one UEFA Champions League trophy, and two EFL Cups.
He has shattered and created numerous records since donning the prestigious red kit of Liverpool. On Sunday, he set a new record, which will serve as a testament to his consistency. With his brace of goals and assists against Spurs, Salah took his Premier League goal tally to 15 and assist count to 11, becoming the first player in the division’s history to record 10+ goals and assists in six different seasons. He is also the first player in English top-flight history to reach double figures for goals and assists before Christmas and the first one to score 10+ goals and claim 10+ assists in four consecutive seasons.

Salah Proud of His Performance But Unsure If He Will Continue at Anfield
After playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s demolition of Tottenham Hotspur, Salah said he was delighted to reach double figures for goals and assists before hitting the halfway point of the season.
“I didn’t think about it before the game but I’m glad I have done it, something that makes me proud, I’ll keep working hard,” the 32-year-old told Sky Sports.
Despite his exceptional showings this season, Liverpool have yet to tie him down to a new contract. Unless they reach an agreement with the former Chelsea man, they will lose him for free at the end of the 2024-25 season.
After the win over Spurs, Salah said he had “no update” about his contract.
He added:
“It’s great to achieve that at such a big club, but the most important thing is that we won the game. Wherever I am going to end my career I am happy about it.”
Salah will return to the pitch when Liverpool take on Leicester City at Anfield Stadium on Boxing Day, 26th December.
