Hundreds of jobs are available at a controversial restaurant chain in Liverpool city centre.
Earlier this year, members of Liverpool council’s licensing authority sub-committee gave their approval to applicant Beauvoir Developments Limited to move ahead with proposals to bring Hooters to the city centre. The licence was granted for Hooters to occupy the vacant New Zealand House on Water Street, previously home to Newz Bar.
But as plans commence for the opening of the bar, which was given the go-ahead despite concerns from ward members and residents, a recruitment event will be held on August 18 at the Hilton Hotel from 11-6pm. Around 200 jobs are available, including for the role of 'Hooters girl'.

No previous experience is required as staff will be trained "the Hooters Way". Successful candidates will receive flexible hours, "great pay", tuition reimbursement and "most of all fun."
Rachel Moss, MD of Hooters Liverpool said: "We are really looking forward to opening Hooters and giving the people what they want and need - great service, a warm welcoming environment and tremendous food.
"Liverpool is my home city and I am very proud to be bringing such a well known international brand here. Work has been ongoing on this project for over two years and the site is amazing. It also gives me great pride to be creating around 200 jobs, both full time and part time for local workers. We will be investing heavily in our staff from day one."
The training program will be led by Hooters Girls who are flying over from America into Liverpool to train successful candidates.

Cheryl Whiting Kish, Chief People Officer said: "Hooters will be 40 years old in 2023. We have over 400 locations worldwide and are super excited to now be opening in the world famous city of Liverpool. Known for its music, sport, people and culture."
Cheryl, who has been with Hooters for almost 30 years, added the brand has "stuck to its roots" as she adds: "There's a very strong culture around training development, ensuring that we are helping people to hone the skills that they learn by working for Hooters so as they can manifest and grow into whatever and whoever they want to become. Hopefully they stay with the brand, perhaps they move on and they have other career goals, but they should be all the better for having worked for us."
Bosses confirmed that "no expense has been spared" for the refurbishment of New Zealand House which will feature video walls, 80's TV's and a hand-painted sky ceiling as well as a £25k Las Vegas style themed changing rooms for "Hooters Girls so they can be camera ready at all times."
The ECHO previously reported that Hooters staff spoke out about what it is like to work there ahead of Liverpool opening. Cheila Almeida, 23, has been working as a 'Hooters girl' for the past five years, who insisted it is not 'sleazy' and more about preparing you for a life after Hooters.
