Liverpool are reportedly considering a January approach for midfield duo Ruben Neves and Konrad Laimer after putting in 'major work' during the summer.
Jurgen Klopp is thought to have midfield reinforcements at the top of his priority list for the mid-season window, with much of this season's struggles traced back to issues in the centre of the park. The Reds have just Naby Keita and Arthur Melo to bridge the gap between the ageing core and youthful energy, although the pair have racked up just 20 minutes of football across all competitions between them.
The Reds have long been linked with a summer move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, but could be keen on adding their other midfield targets as quickly as possible. And according to TEAMTalk, they have put in 'major work' on both Laimer and Neves over the summer, and that both could be approached come January.

Neves has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs over the past 12 months, with Manchester United and Barcelona among potential suitors. But a mid-season move for the 25-year-old will prove an incredibly tough task, with Wolves currently in a relegation fight and new manager Julen Lopetegui insistent on keeping his talisman and captain.
Neves will be on show in Qatar over the next six weeks as he represents Portugal in the 2022 World Cup, potentially giving him a chance to put himself in the shop window.
A move for Laimer may be more within reach for Liverpool and Klopp, with the Austrian's contract at RB Leipzig running out in the summer and no signs of a new deal being ironed out. The Bundesliga club may then be forced to sell for a cut-price in the winter, or risk losing their man on a free in the summer.
