Liverpool given 'zero chance' of Kylian Mbappe transfer as PSG make stance clear

There is "zero chance" of Kylian Mbappe moving to Liverpool or anywhere else in January, despite remarkable claims that the French forward wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain as soon as possible.

That's according to Sky Sports who report that the French champions that signals they have no intention of letting their under-contract superstar exit the club.

European football was rocked on Tuesday when Spanish outlet Marca ran a report claiming that, despite only signing a new deal in May, the 23-year-old World Cup winner was unhappy with life at PSG and was plotting a move away as early as the next transfer window.

With the relationship between Mbappe and the club's board apparently 'broken', the report also claimed that the only club PSG would be willing to let him leave for was Liverpool.

But a counter response from the Parisians strongly suggests that Reds supporters should not be rushing out to buy shirts with the star's name on the back any time soon. Sky Sports has reported that there is "zero chance" of Mbappe leaving this January and that the Marca reports are "utter nonsense" and "complete rubbish".

On Wednesday, PSG's sporting director Luis Campos said: "I am very surprised. Because I spend all my days with Kylian Mbappe, and he never once asked me or the president to leave in January. We have to be very clear that this isn't a declaration. It is news that has come out a few hours before a very important match against Benfica. As for me, I have a three year contract at PSG and I am very happy to be here, in this place - and I work everyday so that I can fulfil my ambitions at the end of my contract."

Mbappe had looked certain to join Real Madrid at the end of last season before performing a dramatic U-turn and signing a new contract to stay with PSG.

The forward's club teammate Sergio Ramos said: "I see him [Mbappe] very happy. I enjoy playing with him and his friendship. If he has to say something he will say it. And he just renewed his contract. We have to stay away from the reports that are going around since we don't know if they are true."
