Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp reacts to Man City dropping points in title race

Jurgen Klopp was surprised by Manchester City dropping points at Crystal Palace but insists it does not change anything in the title race.

The Liverpool manager did not watch the full game at Selhurst Park as his team prepare for a trip to Arsenal that could move them to within a point of the top of the table. While City's draw gives the Merseyside club an opportunity to close the gap, Klopp is not interested in anything that will distract from their attempts to get three points at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

"I watched City for exactly 65 mins for analysis reasons, believe it or not," he said. "I don't have time to watch them in real time," he said. "Palace did well, but so did City, just didn't finish situations off. For the last 30 mins I didn't watch. I saw the result, was surprised.

"Does it help the mood? Why should it? We play Arsenal and we cannot count points away at Arsenal now.

"It's easy for you but it's four points. We have to play this game. If we want to reach something in this Premier League and you're not top then you need to win games and others need to drop."

Liverpool have won their last eight games in the league and Guardiola has warned that their biggest rivals may not drop another point as they look to win the title. Klopp does not think that is likely, but says that has to be the aim.

"The plan is to be as annoying as possible. We have to win our games. You know that but we are very ambitious and determined to do great stuff. Ten games to play a few really tough ones. They are all tough. Can we win all 10 games? It doesn't sound likely but we will give it a try."
