Liverpool fans heading to Paris for tomorrow's Champions League final could be caught up in transport chaos with strikes and engineering work set to hit the French capital this weekend.
French transport unions representing workers on Paris public transport have called for a strike on Saturday - the day the Reds take on Real Madrid - with the aim of disrupting travel to and from the Stade de France.
French news site The Local said that unions representing workers on the RER B train line, which runs from the stadium to central Paris, have called a strike for Saturday to protest against staffing numbers and working conditions. It's not clear how much impact the strike will have as it's not known how many staff will walk out.

Any industrial action could also be limited by the fact that the Paris public transport authority only manages the southern half, which doesn't affect services between the stadium and central Paris. According to French media, it seems likely that fewer trains will run as all the main unions are backing the strike. Transport authorities have said “everything possible will be done” to ensure services run on Saturday.
But the strikes aren't the only public transport problem that Reds may face in Paris. There are also planned engineering works which could disrupt travel for fans arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport today and tomorrow as well as those heading home on Sunday.
Again the RER B line, which links central Paris and the airport could be impacted by this. Services between the airport and Gare du Nord won’t run in either direction on Thursday or Sunday and will be replaced by a bus service. This means anyone arriving into the French capital on Thursday or leaving on Sunday via the airport could face problems.
The Local advises that anyone arriving into Charles de Gaulle on Thursday should take a replacement bus service that will drop them at the RER D stop in Stade de France / Saint Denis. From there they can can take the RER D to central Paris. Those heading home on Sunday can take the RER D to the stadium and then pick up a replacement bus to the airport.
Anyone arriving into Paris Charles de Gaulle airport late on Friday night is also likely to face disruption with trains to Gare du Nord stopping at 22:45. A bus replacement service will be put in place.
