The fixtures have been released for the 2023/24 Premier League season and Liverpool have discovered their schedule for the campaign.
Kicking off the season with a testing trip to Mauricio Pochettino’s new-look Chelsea, before hosting Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday, August 19. Then comes another tough away game against Newcastle to finish off August.
As well as the opening matches of the campaign, Jurgen Klopp will no doubt already be looking at the schedule in December around the Christmas period, as a spell of fixtures that may be particularly awkward for his side.
The Reds start the testing run of matches just a week ahead of Christmas with a home encounter against Manchester United.
Klopp’s side may have run out remarkable seven-goal winners in the fixture last time out, but this may well be one of the toughest tests of their campaign.
A week later and just days before Christmas, the Reds then host last season’s runners-up Arsenal – after their pulsating 2-2 draw in the run-in to last season’s league. A matter of days later, they will travel to Burnley in a game scheduled for Boxing Day.
The tough run of games does not stop there, as Liverpool will close their 2023 calendar year with a home game against Newcastle, with January encompassing a trip to Bournemouth before hosting Chelsea and the next league game seeing a trip to the Gunners.
