Liverpool 'eyeing' free transfer of attacker Erling Haaland says is 'one of the biggest talents'

Liverpool have been credited with having a strong interest in Borussia Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko as the 17-year-old's contract ticks down.

Moukoko, despite his tender age, has featured frequently in the Bundesliga and has seven goal contributions (three goals and four assists) in 15 games this season.

Contract negotiations between his representatives and the Yellow Wall have seemingly stalled which has reportedly courted interest from the Reds as well as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The original report from Spanish outlet, Sport, suggests that Jurgen Klopp's side lead the race and appear to be 'best positioned' to sign him. Due to his contract entering its final six months, Liverpool could begin negotiations as early as January if they are to make their move early.

Manchester City star Erling Haaland was at the Bundesliga outfit when he made his bow as a 16-year-old. He has already delivered an eye-catching verdict on the attacker.

Haaland said previously: "I'm really happy for Youssoufa. I'd really like to play with him sometime. I think he's one of the biggest talents in the world right now. He's only 16 years and one day old, and he's playing fantastically. He has a great career ahead of him."

"[Youssoufa] is very powerful and skillful," Haaland also said in 2021. "He is already at one of the top clubs for improving his game. The club gives you a chance to play. It does not matter what age you are."

Last month, German outlet BILD via BuliNews, said that negotiations had began to stall. It has been reported that the German U21 international has yet to pen an extension due to his salary and playing time demands.

Previously during their negotiations, Dortmund were willing to offer a €4m (£3.7m) salary whilst the 17-year-old's representatives were pushing for €6m (£5.2m).
