Liverpool 'enter the game strongly' to sign forward wanted by Manchester United

Liverpool are being linked with a move for a player who has been heavily linked with Manchester United.

The Reds have already added three new players to their squad this summer, as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his options. Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay have all been signed, and if a fresh report is to go by then more could be on the way.

According to Yahoo Esportes, Liverpool have entered talks with Ajax over a move for Antony. The winger has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the transfer window.

It has been claimed that while United have been deemed favourites to sign the Brazilian, Liverpool are now in talks. The report adds that the Reds have ‘entered the game strongly’ in terms of making moves to sign Antony.

Brazilian outfit Sao Paulo are also said to be keeping tabs on developments for Antony. The club, who Antony left to move to the Eredivisie, are thought to be due 20% of any profit Ajax make from a sale from the player.

Despite these links claiming Liverpool’s interest in Antony, it’s thought that the Reds are done and dusted with their incoming transfer business this summer. Anfield sources have indicated that with their new three additions they are more than happy with the reinforcements that have been made and do not envisage any more incoming players this summer.
