Liverpool have enquired about signing Chelsea defender Levi Colwill this summer.
That's according to the ECHO's sister website football.london, who report that despite Liverpool's making their interest clear, Chelsea remain determined to keep hold of the young defender.
The 20-year-old is due to return to the Blues once the European Under-21 Championship, where he is representing finalists England, has concluded. Colwill is a man very much in demand this summer after a very impressive 2022/23 season on loan down on the south coast with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Seagulls have attempted to sign their former loanee permanently, seeing two bids rejected by Chelsea. It is believed his parent club want to tie Colwill down to a new long-term contract, with his current deal in west London due to expire in less than two years.

There is still some lingering doubt surrounding his future, though. Colwill wants assurances over the amount of first-team football available to him at Chelsea next season and faces competition from fellow left-footed defender Benoit Badiashile. Liverpool are reportedly aware of this and are said to have enquired multiple times about the availability of the England U21 international, including in the last few days.
In what could be seen as another barrier to a potential Anfield move, it is also stated that newly-appointed Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is excited to work with Colwill. He will report for pre-season training in the next few weeks and is due to sit down with the Argentine and discuss what lies ahead.
The Reds are thought to be looking at adding another central defender to their ranks before the new season starts. Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a huge admirer of the former Huddersfield Town star after he caught the eye during his stint at the AMEX stadium last term.
