With just under six weeks of the summer transfer window remaining, if clubs are hopeful of adding new additions to their squad they'll have to act swiftly or risk moving out on their targets.
Liverpool, as we know, seem to already have done all of their business after landing the signings of Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho. But as always, their name continues to circulate in and around the gossip columns.
And here's the latest round-up of all the Reds transfer tittle-tattle.
Who?
Anthony
Where?
Football Insider
What?
Liverpool have 'enquired' about the possibility of signing Ajax forward Anthony this summer,
Football Insider report that the Reds have started exploring the possibility of bringing the 22-year-old, who is valued at £59m by the Dutch giants, to Anfield.
Manchester United have also been heavily linked with the forward following Erik Ten Hag's arrival at Old Trafford earlier this month. Still, the report states that neither of the clubs intends to pay Ajax's asking price for the Brazilian.
Despite the links, it seems unlikely that Liverpool will move for a player of Anthony's mould having already added Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho to their ranks this summer.
Who?
Martin Terrier
Where?
L'Equipe
What?
Liverpool could be eyeing up a move for Stade Rennais forward Martin Terrier this summer.
French outlet L’Equipe claim that Jurgen Klopp's side could target Terrier, 25, who is also being monitored by fellow Premier League clubs Leeds United and West Ham United.
The Frenchman contributed 21 goals and a further four assists in Ligue 1 last season as Rennais finished fourth and qualified for the Europa League group stages.
Links for the Reds to bolster their forward options come as a certain degree of uncertainty remains over Roberto Firmino, with the 30-year-old Brazilian having just one year left on his current deal.
Still only 25 and with over 200 professional appearances under his belt, Terrier would be a promising addition to the Liverpool squad if they were to make a move for him over the coming weeks.
Who?
Joe Gomez
Where?
ECHO
What?
Joe Gomez has labelled speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid and Aston Villa earlier this year "flattering" but insists a move away from Anfield was never in his thoughts.
The 25-year-old struggled for minutes in his preferred position at centre-back last season and saw his status demoted to fourth choice behind Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Ibrahima Konate.
Speaking exclusively to the ECHO's Ian Doyle in Singapore last week, Gomez spoke out for the first time about the supposed interest in clubs wanting to prise him away from Anfield.
“I can’t dispute I heard about these rumours,” he said. “But until things are concrete with my representatives, I take it all with a pinch of salt. Any interest is flattering, but I don’t really see it like as that much of a distraction because until I make my decision, the external noise is just that – external. Once I got my head around what I wanted to do, my signing is me understanding the challenge and wanting to rise to it."
Gomez recently committed his long-term future to Liverpool by signing a new and improved five-year contract earlier this month.
