Loris Karius's Liverpool nightmare is finally over after the goalkeeper was confirmed as one of seven players who will leave the club this month.
Karius is the most high-profile name of six players who will join Divock Origi in departing Anfield as a free agent when their contract expires in the coming days.
The German, signed from Mainz for £4.7million in July 2016, made 49 appearances for the Reds but never played again following his harrowing experience in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in May 2018. Karius had subsequent loan spells at Besiktas and Union Berlin but spent this season training at Kirkby and hasn't featured in a senior match for anyone since February 2021.

Origi's exit was already confirmed with the Belgian expected to sign for AC Milan after seven years at Anfield.
The pair are joined in leaving by Ben Woodburn, Sheyi Ojo and Elijah Dixon-Bonner. Woodburn, still only 22, spent last season on loan at Hearts in Scotland and remains the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool history when netting against Leeds United in the League Cup in November 2016, one of 11 appearances under Jurgen Klopp.
Ojo, who won the U20 World Cup with England, totalled 13 outings for the Reds but the last came more than five years ago. His recent season at Championship side Millwall was the seventh loan spell of his time with Liverpool. Dixon-Bonner featured in the League Cup and FA Cup this season having made his senior debut in January 2020.
And also departing are Academy players Luis Longstaff and Sean Wilson, the former of which was among the youngsters to appear in the League Cup quarter-final at Aston Villa in December 2019 and helped Queen's Park earn promotion to the Scottish Championship during a loan spell this term.
