Liverpool could 'regain its identity' with 1930s flat designs

A student has reimagined 1930s apartment buildings in a bid to show how the city could house people more efficiently and bring back its identity.

Todd Lithgow, 21, is originally from Nottingham and is studying town and regional planning at the University of Liverpool. He initially gained a social media following last year with his 'bold' designs for crucial parts of the city, including The Strand and Princes Avenue in Toxteth.

His latest blueprints were inspired by a building on Myrtle Street dating back to the 1930s; he said many structures of this kind were "wrongfully razed" in the past and could hold the key for more efficient city centre living.
