Liverpool 'consider' Roberto Firmino swap deal in 'last-ditch attempt' to sign midfielder

Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Recent weeks have seen the Reds linked with a host of potential new midfielders, due to their ongoing injury issues. A host of players are currently on the sidelines, leading to plenty of rumours of possible new signings before next week’s deadline.

One of those players is Paredes, who is widely reported to be nearing a move to Juventus. However, reports from Italy have suggested there could be a late twist.

According to Calciomercato , Liverpool have set their sights on signing Paredes before the transfer window closes. It has been claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side will make a “last-ditch attempt” to sign the Argentina international.

The report goes a step further by claiming that Liverpool could offer Roberto Firmino to PSG in part-exchange. It has also been reported that both Firmino and Paredes are valued between €25m-€30m (£21m-£25m).

Despite Liverpool being linked with Paredes, it has still been reported that Juventus are in the driving seat to sign the midfielder. Various reports have claimed that personal terms between the player and the Italian club are agreed, with PSG said to be keen to get a deal done sooner rather than later.
