Liverpool have been handed a huge injury boost as the Reds revealed on Wednesday that Mohamed Salah is expected to play for the club before the season is out.
Salah had suffered an injury during Liverpool’s win over Crystal Palace at Anfield last weekend, with fears growing that the Egyptian had played his last game on Merseyside.
The forward announced earlier this year that he would be leaving Anfield after nine years at the club.
Now, however, those fears seem to have subsided with the Reds issuing an update on the winger on their website.
“Liverpool FC can confirm Mohamed Salah is expected to be available to play again before the end of this season,” the statement read.
“The No11 was substituted during the second half of last Saturday’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Anfield.
“The issue that caused his withdrawal has now been confirmed as a minor muscle injury.
“It is, however, anticipated Salah will return to action ahead of 2025-26’s conclusion and his departure from the Reds this summer.”
Salah has been in and out of the side this term, featuring 39 times in all competitions and scoring 12 goals.
He finished as second top goalscorer over last winter’s Africa Cup of Nations, where Egypt lost on penalties to Nigeria in the third-place play-off.
Salah caused a stir with a bombshell interview that he gave after Liverpool’s draw at Leeds United in December, claiming that the club had “thrown me under the bus”, while also revealing that he and manager Arne Slot had “no relationship” after a string of successive games where Salah had been left as an unused substitute.
