Liverpool have confirmed the departure of midfielder Rachel Furness after three seasons at Prenton Park.
Furness joined the Reds from Reading in December 2019 and went on to make 64 appearances for the club. In that time, the 34-year-old scored 19 goals - taking her to third on the club's goal scoring charts in the Women's Super League era.
The Sunderland-born player served as the Reds’ vice-captain and was an integral part of the FA Women’s Championship winning team of 2021/22. In November 2021, the Northern Ireland international became her country's all-time top goal scorer – male or female - and led Northern Ireland to their first major tournament in the Women’s Euros of summer 2022.

In a statement on Friday, Liverpool confirmed Furness had left the club by mutual consent in order to "pursue an opportunity elsewhere".
According to a report in the Telegraph earlier this week, the midfielder is set to sign for Bristol City, who currently sit second in the Women's Championship table.
Liverpool have bolstered their midfield options in recent weeks with the additions of Denmark youth international Sofie Lundgaard, Japan international Fuka Nagano and Angel City's Miri Taylor. The Reds are set to return to WSL action this weekend, when they will host 10th-placed Reading at Prenton Park.
