Liverpool company smashes £5m fundraising target thanks to online investors

A Liverpool based soft drinks firm has raised in excess of £5m thanks to online investors.

Happy Drinks Co, whose products are sold by the likes of Lidl, M&S and Waitrose, has so far secured almost £6m from 637 investors on Seedrs, an online investment platform. It has surpassed its fundraising target with 17 days remaining on their campaign.

The company was founded by 2017 by CEO Ian Minton and Steve Wilkinson and has a global partnership with the official Emoji brand, BusinessLive reports. The Liverpool-based firm, which used to be called Skinny Drinks Group, has put an 11% stake in the business up for sale to investors.
