Positive Covid infections have decreased in Liverpool City Region.
In the week ending August 6, the Liverpool City Region saw a week-on-week percentage change figure decrease of 26%, according to the latest data from Public Health England.

There were 1,557 infections in the Liverpool City Region in the week ending August 6, which is 533 fewer cases than the previous seven days before.
There were falls in each of the individual areas of the LCR were. They were: 28% in Liverpool; 17% in Knowsley; 26% in Halton; 35% in St Helens; 25% in Sefton; and, 19% in Wirral.
Warrington, West Lancs, and Cheshire West and Chester all saw drops in positive Covid infections.
In England, overall, there was a drop of 24% in the week ending August 6.
Liverpool
Liverpool's positive tests came to 461 cases in the week ending August 6, which is 181 fewer cases than the previous week. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 28%. The latest infection rate was 92.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Wirral
Wirral's positive tests came to 344 cases in the week ending August 6, which is 78 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. This meant the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 19%. The latest infection rate was 106.1 cases per 100,000 people.
Halton
There were 130 positive tests over the last week - that's 46 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 26% in Halton in the week ending August 6. The latest infection rate is 100.2 cases per 100,000 people.
St Helens
There was a total of 188 cases in the week ending August 6, which is 101 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in St Helens is 103.8 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 35%.
Knowsley
There was a total of 139 cases in the week ending August 6, which is 28 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate in Knowsley is 91.2 cases per 100,000 people and the week-on-week percentage change figure decreased by 17%.
Sefton
Sefton had a total of 295 cases in the week ending August 6, which is a 99 fewer cases than in the previous week. The latest infection rate is 106.9 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases decreased by 25% week on week.
Liverpool City Region
There were 1,557 positive tests over in the week ending August 6, which is 533 fewer cases than in the previous week. This means the week-on-week percentage change decreased by 26%. The latest infection rate is 91.44 cases per 100,000 people.
Warrington
There were 209 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 6, which is 100 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure decreased by 32%. There was an infection rate of 99.81 per 100,000 people.
Cheshire West and Chester
There were 345 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 6, which is 94 fewer cases than the previous week. The week-on-week percentage figure decreased by 21%. There was an infection rate of 100.34 per 100,000 people.
West Lancs
There were 106 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending August 6, which is 43 fewer cases than the previous week. The latest infection rate in West Lancs is 92.58 cases per 100,000 people, and the week-on-week percentage decreased by 29% in cases.
England
In the week ending August 6, England recorded 48,570 coronavirus cases, which is 15,223 fewer cases than in the previous seven days. The week-on-week percentage decreased by 24% in England. There was an infection rate of 85.89 per 100,000 people.
