Liverpool city centre flat owners fearing 'drunk gatherings' outside homes

People living in an apartment block in Liverpool's business district say they are worried about "drunk gathering outside their flats'' if an alcohol licence is granted for a premises in the same building.

Tailors Liverpool Ltd has applied for a licence to sell alcohol from a premises within the Harley Buildings in Old Hall Street. If approved, the premises - which is set to be a restaurant - will be able to sell alcohol between midday and 11pm both on and off the premises. The venue itself would remain open until midnight on each day of the week.

The application will be heard today (Friday June 9) by Liverpool City Council's licensing committee, who will determine whether the plans can go ahead.
