Liverpool city centre bars hosting week of tequila masterclasses and events

Two Liverpool city centre bars are taking part in the "very first Margarita Week" from today, February 18 until Sunday, February 26.

Launched by leading tequila brand, Cazcabel, there'll be eight days of masterclasses, events, tastings, partnerships and promotions across the country. National Margarita Week aims to celebrate the iconic cocktail in style.

Recently named the UK's bestselling 100% agave tequila, Cazcabel is quickly becoming a world-leading tequila brand. It was voted 'Master' in this year's Tequila & Mezcal Master Awards, and is stocked in beloved bars, restaurants, and retailers across the world.

This February, Cazcabel is teaming up with venues across the country to create drinks experiences that promote the Margarita in its many forms. In Liverpool, city centre bars Butter and PINS will be taking part.

Both venues have quickly established themselves as firm favourites on Liverpool's thriving hospitality scene. This week, Butter, based on Slater Street, and PINS, based on Duke Street, will be working with Cazcabel.

The tequila brand will join forces with some of the UK's top cocktail bars with a variety of classes and experiences designed to excite and educate. A series of 'Master Your Margarita' masterclasses will take place in various venues across the UK.

In these sessions, tequila experts will take guests through the techniques and ingredients that can transform a supermarket-grade Margarita into something special. Guests will learn about flavoured syrups and complementary liqueurs, before making their own Margarita recipe and taking a bottle of their creation home with them.

As well as masterclasses, bar groups all over the country like STACK, Akito, and Head Of Steam, will be hosting their own dedicated Margarita menus.

Since the late 1930s, the Margarita has grown in popularity, with seemingly endless variations on this classic cocktail still being produced today. The world's top bartenders and chefs continue to create innovative versions, with Michelin-star chef Adam Handling including the '24 Carrot Margarita' - a recipe using carrot top butter-washed Cazcabel Reposado Tequila - in his recent cocktail book. The drink's superstar status was recently confirmed when in 2021, the Margarita was voted the world's favourite cocktail.

Butter is based at 28 Slater Street, Liverpool, L1 4BX and PINS can be found at 45 - 61 Duke Street, Liverpool, L1 5AP.
