Liverpool 'beaten' to Raheem Sterling signing as £45m Chelsea deal agreed

Liverpool have reportedly missed out on the signing of one of their former players.

On Wednesday it was reported that Manchester City star Raheem Sterling was on the verge of joining Chelsea. According to The Mirror , the ex-Liverpool winger has agreed personal terms ahead of making a £45m move to Stamford Bridge.

And the report goes on to say that the Reds were actually interested in bringing Sterling back to Anfield. However, they were 'beaten' to his signing by Chelsea.
