New faces have been added to the Liverpool squad and now a new hybrid carpet pitch has been installed at Anfield ahead of the new season.
The club describe the new pitch as a "high-quality playing surface formed from a number of artificial fibres and open-structured backing – similar to a carpet – to offer reinforcement for the grass".
And while the changes will not be noticeable to fans watching the action at Anfield, the innovative surface is said to provide the "ultimate playing surface" as Liverpool look to win more trophies.
