Cody Gakpo could become the next young Dutch talent to leave the Eredivisie for the Premier League, with Liverpool and Manchester City both reportedly in talks with the forward.
The 22-year-old made his international debut over the summer at Euro 2020, his reward for a breakout season at PSV Eindhoven in which he scored 11 goals in all competitions, and scored his first goal for the Netherlands in September as they beat Montenegro.
He is said to be on the verge of agreeing a new long-term deal with PSV which would keep him on the club's books until 2026.
However, the new deal is unlikely to stop Gakpo leaving if a top European club pulls the trigger on a bid, and two of the Premier League's big guns are keeping close tabs on the youngster.

Gakpo has gone up another level this season, registering six goals and 10 assists in just 15 Eredivisie appearances as his club continues to challenge Ajax for the title.
He has also netted twice in the Champions League qualifiers - where PSV fell in the play-off round - and twice in the Europa League group stage.
With Liverpool and City seemingly joining Bayern Munich in the race, he has a big decision up ahead.
According to Voetbal International, 'it is clear' Gakpo has spoken with both City and Liverpool ahead of a potential switch, but has yet to make his mind up when it comes to his immediate future.
"The clubs that want something are also known to me, I've had conversations about that with my agent," he said, while stressing it "looks like" he will extend his current deal in Eindhoven.
"Very interesting clubs have been added, but we have to look at what the first step is. At the moment my focus is not there and I had better things to do on Sunday."
Gakpo played 90 minutes for PSV on Sunday as they lost 2-1 at home to Ajax to lose ground in the title race, with Brian Brobbey and Nousair Mazraoui striking for the visitors either side of a Mario Gotze equaliser.
The result saw Ajax overtake their opponents at the top of the table, though the two-point gap is a manageable one.
PSV also have European competition to reckon with in the coming months, with a Europa Conference League clash against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in February, while they are still alive in the domestic cup.
Liverpool and City have both had quiet Januaries so far, with the Reds yet to make a signing and Pep Guardiola's men bringing in Brazilian youngster Kayky in a deal agreed before the window opened.
The Manchester club remain favourites to beat their rivals to the Premier League title, despite dropping points over the weekend.
City were held to a 1-1 draw on Saturday, while Liverpool won at Crystal Palace on Sunday to reduce the gap to nine points with a game in hand.
