Liverpool and Man City 'hold talks' over £33m striker as defender could leave

Liverpool's hectic schedule continues this week as they take on Villareal in the first leg of their semi-final in the Champions League before the travel to the North East for a Saturday lunchtime kick off against in-form Newcastle.

This season is one of a kind with Liverpool fighting on all fronts as we approach the final month of the campaign. The Reds could become the first British side to win all four major trophies and create history.

Jurgen Klopp is currently able to choose from a squad with just one injury to Roberto Firmino. This Liverpool side has never been stronger with the options available to the German boss and the Reds are certainly making the most of that. The right-back is currently on loan from Liverpool at newly-promoted Fulham and has been a key part in the Cottagers securing promotion back to the Premier League without a fuss in the second part of the season.

However, Williams has said he is unsure where he'll be playing his football next term: “I don’t know yet where I will be playing next season.

“I’m focussing on getting this year done, get the Wales games over in June and we’ll see what happens then. If that’s either staying at Liverpool, or if it’s going out on loan again, I’m not entirely sure at this stage."

According to the report, Liverpool are amongst the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle to be tracking young striker Hugo Ekitike.

Reims are expecting plenty of interest in the 19-year-old, who has 10 goals this season, and Reims president, Jean-Pierre Caillot, has said the club will not stand in the way of Ekitike leaving.

The report suggests that the attacker's agents have already held talks with Liverpool and Manchester City about a possible summer move from PSV.

PSV don't want to lose Gakpo this summer, but would be willing to come to agreement on a fee of around £33 million.
