Rangers are still searching for their first points and goal in the Champions League after defeat at Liverpool.
Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a stunning free-kick with Mo Salah on target from the penalty spot to win the first Battle of Britain clash between the pair at Anfield but in truth Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men had Allan McGregor to thank for a stunning display between the nets.
The 40-year-old started the season as second choice to Jon McLaughlin but has been in top form since his recall and he showed once again age is just a number as he kept the scoreline down with a number of big saves from the likes of Darwin Nunez. Jurgen Klopp's men had been out of sorts going into this one but they showed their class with some outstanding movements off the ball and continued attacking and pressing approach.

Here's three things we learned from Liverpool vs Rangers on matchday three.
Reds return
Ryan Kent and Ben Davies returned to Liverpool and it wasn't a happy homecoming for the Rangers pair.
It was a tough night for both with the Ibrox men unable to offer much in attack while the defence didn't have a minute to rest.
Davies has just got himself fit and ready after a stop-start beginning at Ibrox and he will be hoping to form a big partnership with Connor Goldson as he gets sharper and sharper and gets the minutes under his belt.
Kent and Davies will get the chance of revenge when the two sides meet at Ibrox.
Baptism of fire
Leon King was handed a night he will never forget as he started at Anfield.
The result may have not been what the Rangers kid wanted but the experience of the occasion could prove priceless.
A massive show of faith from Giovanni van Bronckhorst to start him alongside Connor Goldson and Ben Davies.
Gave away a penalty for a foul on Luis Diaz with 52 minutes on the clock. Will continue to learn and progress.
Age just a number
Allan McGregor once again put in a huge display at the top level as he proved age is just a number.
The veteran keeper is back in the team and showed his presence inside two minutes to deny Darwin Nunez. That was a sign of things to come as he also denied Mo Salah and Nunez on further occasions with crucial stops. The pick of the lot was a finger tip save to turn Jota's effort over the bar.
The keeper stood no chance with Trent Alexander-Arnold's free-kick or Salah's penalty but he showed his worth to this Rangers side once again.
He may be 40, but he certainly isn't showing any signs of slowing down .
