US reopens Kyiv embassy as Russian soldier pleads guilty at first war crimes trial

The US Embassy in Kyiv reopened on Wednesday after a three-month closure due to Russia's February 24 invasion of Ukraine. Earlier the same day, a 21-year-old Russian soldier facing the first war crimes trial since Russia’s invasion pleaded guilty to killing an unarmed civilian.
