Pope Leo XIV was greeted by a crowd of around 80,000 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, just north of Paris, on Friday evening. Hours earlier, speaking at the Élysée Palace, he had cautioned that humanity could be lost to a "paradise of machines" driven by artificial intelligence.

Pope Leo arrived at the stadium shortly before 9:00pm. Star acts on stage at the stadium include Canada's Natasha St-Pier, French-American singer Monroe and Madagascar's Anisha Jo. More details in our live blog:
