Blinken calls for ‘urgent steps to restore calm’ between Israel, Palestinians

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a joint press conference in Israel on Monday, as Blinken urged a de-escalation in violence that has flared in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. 

At a joint press conference with Israel's Netanyahu, Blinken said the US remained "fully committed" to a two-state solution and that its commitment to Israel's security remained "iroclad".
