Littler vs Humphries LIVE!
Luke Humphries fought back to end the fairytale run of 16-year-old sensation Luke Littler and win the World Darts Championship for the first time at a raucous Alexandra Palace on Wednesday night.
Littler, whose staggering progress to the final has captured the imagination of the British sporting public, was one dart away from a 5-2 set lead in a thrilling first to seven showpiece. But the 28-year-old new world number one Humphries stormed back with a succession of 180s and clinical checkouts to reel off five successive sets and claim a stunning 7-4 win and his maiden world title.
Humphries sealed victory with a nerveless double eight to claim the Sid Waddell trophy and the £500,000 winners' cheque. Littler had been attempting to become the youngest ever world darts champion and on Thursday joined Humphries in the latest Premier League Darts lineup for 2024.
