Little Ukrainian girl singing Let It Go in Kyiv bomb shelter gets millions of views

Nicola Sturgeon has shared a heartbreaking video of a Ukrainian girl singing Let It Go in a Kyiv bomb shelter.

The girl, named Amelia, belted out a stunning rendition of the Oscar-winning Frozen anthem as families hunkered down in the bunker.

Her moving performance garnered cheers and applause from families in the clip, which has been viewed more than three million times on Twitter alone.

Idina Menzel, who played Frozen character Elsa and sang the original track, posted a message in support: "We see you. We really, really see you."

The footage was originally posted on Facebook by Marta Smekhova, who said the "friendly and talkative" girl was drawing pictures to decorate the shelter.

"She told me that besides drawing, she loves to sing... and whispered shared her dream that she wants to sing on a big stage in front of the audience..."

The post explained that Amelia was worried she wouldn't be heard when she was asked to sing – but the shelter fell completely silent for her moving performance.

"Everyone put their business aside and listen to a song by this girl who was just beaming light... even men couldn't hold back the tears."

One viewer commented on Twitter: "This little girl is singing in a world turned violent. I bawled and knew I would find it on twitter. Thank you sweet Amelia."

Another added: "My 57-year-old heart is breaking while listening to this. I hope she grows up in a better world."

"I cried watching this. I hate everyone who takes away their childhood," another user commented.
