Little Mix have insisted that they will not be trying to compete for solo number one singles after announcing that they will be separating after 11 years together.
The group have notched up an impressive five number 1 singles, as well as winning three Brit Awards over the seven albums they have released together.
But now the group has decided that the time has come for them to part ways, they just hope that they don't get in each others' way for number 1 spots.
The group have also vowed that despite their split, they do want to reunite at some point in the future.
Members Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall said that they are managing their solo releases so they're not releasing new music simultaneously.
Perrie, 28, told The Sun : “We’ve all said we will let each other know when we’re going to release so we don’t end up clashing in the charts. We’re rooting for each other, not competing against each other.”
Leigh-Anne added: “We are so close and that’s the thing. We’re all going to be in communication about this the whole time.”
The 30-year-old said that their friendship is too important to jeopardise and they want to ensure that they are not getting in each others' way after they each start their solo career.
Little Mix have become the most successful girl band in the UK after being brought together on the X Factor.
In the 11 years since their formation they have sold upwards of 50 million records worldwide and boast more than 22 million Spotify listeners each month.
They are set for their last performance in the Confetti tour, which is sold out.
It is also the first they have done as a trio since fourth member Jasy Nelson left the band in 2020.
Perrie said: “Even though it’s a massive, epic show, I think knowing everyone is watching it is going to make it feel super intimate.”
The concert will be live streamed from the O2 Arena in London arounnd the world, and will be the last opportunity to see the group together before they begin their hiatus.
Jade told the Sun: “You can’t deny our relationship – whenever anyone comes to watch the show or sees us in interviews or on social media it’s pretty obvious that we can’t actually live without each other."
The group have confirmed that they have plans to reunite in the future but will be taking a hiatus to allow them to pursue solo projects.
Little Mix made history in 2021 when they became the first girl group to win Best British Band at the Brits, using the moment to pay tribute to other girl groups who had come before them.
