A young boy who bravely decided to donate his long hair to those who've suffered from cancer had an emotional reaction when it came to getting his locks chopped off.
Footage shows young Jude, whose hair previously cascaded down to his waist, marking his fifth birthday by having his first-ever haircut. The moment was captured by hairstylist Jad Srour, who gave Jude what he described as a "classic men's haircut".
Little Jude initially burst into tears as Jad cut away his hair, but the stylist did his best to calm him down, and eventually, the child was all smiles as he got a good look at his drastically different new 'do.
Jad, who is from Israel, explained: "I decided to record his first-ever haircut because I thought it would be a precious memory for them to look back on.
"I don't usually cut hair for young clients or kids Jude's age, but when I saw his picture and how much hair he had, I wanted to do it.
"In the beginning, it was very emotional, especially when he cried, but I kept trying to make him feel comfortable and did my best to calm him down."
He continued: "After he had calmed down, I was very glad to be cutting his hair. It was his fifth birthday on the day that I cut his hair, and it was the first time he'd cut his hair.
"His mum got very emotional and even cried a bit at the beginning. His father was silent and smiled during the haircut. I gave Jude a classic men's haircut that’s short on the sides and back with a slightly longer top. It was parted to the right side with two lines on the left side."
The video of Jude's first haircut has since clocked up 40 million views and counting on TikTok, where it has sparked a bit of a debate.
Some remarked that Jude's new look was "much much better", while others expressed dismay at seeing such "beautiful hair" being shorn away.
One person lamented: "I fainted. I almost cried that he cut [his hair to this] length."
Another praised the "cute" new look, however, remarking that Jude had gone "from beautiful to handsome".
