Manchester United announced the signing of Lisandro Martinez on Wednesday, with the Argentina international following in his manager's footsteps by swapping the Eredivisie for the Premier League.
Martinez was a pivotal part of Ten Hag's team last season having made 36 appearances in all competitions. United's scouting department had recommended that United move for Pau Torres of Villarreal, but the Dutchman pulled rank to get his man through the door.
The arrival of the 24-year-old defender is the latest sign that United have listened to their former player Daley Blind's advice on Ten Hag. Blind played under Ten Hag last season and was Martinez's teammate in Amsterdam.
