- Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez launched a scathing attack on technical director Jason Wilcox following his side's 2-0 Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid.
- Speaking to Prime Video , Martinez accused the club's leadership of failing to adequately support manager Michael Carrick in the transfer market despite a successful previous campaign.
- The Argentine international insisted that board members and technical staff must share the blame, arguing that rival teams had recruited heavily while United failed to build a deep enough squad.
- United's poor start to the season leaves them with just two wins from their opening nine matches overall, alongside an ongoing five-match winless streak.
- Martinez further cautioned that rival teams have adapted to Carrick's tactical setup following last season's third-place finish, emphasising the urgent need for tactical evolution.
