The camera panned to Lisa Marie Presley and her mother, Priscilla, as Austin Butler addressed the crowd in his trademark Elvis drawl.
"Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me," the actor said during Wednesday's Golden Globes, as he accepted the award for his performance as the King of Rock and Roll.
"Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever."
It would be Lisa Marie's final public appearance. The 54-year-old died following a reported cardiac arrest on Friday.
Throughout the awards ceremony, she spoke of the "mind-blowing" experience of watching her late father's story come to life on film, and the effect it had on her.
'I had to take five days to process it'
The mother and daughter duo attended the Golden Globes for Baz Luhrmann's Elvis biopic, which was nominated for three awards.
After watching the movie, which chronicles the musician's life, career and complex relationship with his manager, Lisa Marie "really didn't know what to do" with herself.
"I had to take like five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and so authentic," she told reporters on the red carpet.
"I can't even describe what it meant."
It was a sentiment she'd expressed just days earlier, as she commemorated her father's birthday with Butler and Luhrmann in Los Angeles.
She told crowds she was "so overwhelmed by the film and the effect it has had".
"What Baz has done, Austin has done, I'm so proud and I know that my father would also be very proud," she said.
